GBFGlobal Buyer Finance

Global Buyer Finance Forum 2027 · San Diego

Meet the suppliers. Explore the financing. Advance your next project.

A curated meeting program for buyers with a defined equipment or services purchase. Submit your project before you travel, and we prepare appointments with relevant suppliers, commercial lenders and export credit agencies.

Why attend

Purchases stall when financing is arranged too late

Many US and international buyers need a bank facility, export credit agency cover or supplier credit before they can place an order. The forum puts procurement and finance in the same room, around real purchases.

Buyers

Meet suppliers that match your specifications and discuss possible financing routes with lenders and agencies, on a schedule prepared before you arrive.

Suppliers

Meet buyers with a defined purchase, budget and timetable. Discuss the procurement and financing requirements needed to advance a purchase.

Banks and agencies

Review buyer-approved project summaries in advance and meet only the companies that fit your country, sector and transaction size.

Participation and introductions do not constitute financing approval. Every lender and agency makes its own decisions under its own rules.

For buyers

How a project moves through the forum

We accept projects with a genuine, defined purchase and a decision-maker who can attend. Each buyer is asked to send two people: one from finance or treasury, one from procurement. Meetings are small and practical: specifications, quotations and financing questions on the table.

  1. Submit

Company, project, equipment or services, amount, supplier countries and timetable.

  2. Review

We check fit, possible financing routes and what information is missing.

  3. Summary

A two-page project profile, shared only with counterparties you approve.

  4. Matching

Your needs against suppliers' capabilities and lenders' appetite. Both sides accept each meeting.

  5. Meetings

30-minute appointments with a stated purpose and the right people present.

  6. Follow-up

Next steps and owners recorded, with progress checks at 30, 60 and 90 days.

Buyer participation is subject to project acceptance and paid registration. Invited ECA and public development-bank representatives receive complimentary attendance. Financial statements are requested later, only after an initial fit check, and are never placed in a public directory or sent to all sponsors.

For suppliers and exporters

Meet buyers whose specifications match your products, with the financing side present. Attend as a delegate or as a Supplier Partner.

Travel information

Plan early, especially if you need a visa

Visas and invitation letters

US visitor visa interviews in several countries are currently booked months ahead. If you need a visa, submit your project by 7 November 2026 and apply as soon as you are accepted. We issue invitation letters only to accepted participants. A letter supports your application but does not decide it, and this date cannot guarantee an appointment or a visa. Check current requirements at travel.state.gov. Many European travelers can use ESTA instead of a visa.

Venue and hotels

The forum takes place in downtown San Diego, within walking distance of the San Diego Convention Center. The venue and any hotel room block will be announced here. Hotels fill quickly during exhibition week, so book early.

Intersolar & Energy Storage North America

The exhibition runs 9–11 February 2027 at the San Diego Convention Center. Forum registration does not include exhibition admission; register at iesna.com.

Optional Tijuana session

A Friday session in Tijuana for Mexican participants runs only with enough interest and a local host. International delegates should check their own entry and return requirements; a US visa does not settle them.

Questions

Frequently asked

What does the fee cover?

The forum program on 8–9 February: project review, your approved procurement summary, workshops, prepared appointments and a written next-step summary. Travel, hotels, Intersolar admission and optional visits are not included.

How are projects accepted?

We accept projects with a defined purchase, a decision-maker who can attend and relevant counterparties we can reach. Acceptance is about meeting fit; it is not a credit decision.

How are meetings prepared?

We compare your requirements with suppliers' capabilities and lenders' appetite, then propose appointments. Each meeting happens only when both sides accept it, and has a stated purpose.

Who sees my information?

Only counterparties you approve see your project summary. Financial documents are requested separately, through a secure route, and are never published or sent to all sponsors.

Does attending mean I will get financing?

No. Banks and agencies decide under their own rules. The forum helps you prepare and meet the right people.

What is the cancellation policy?

Full refund of the forum fee for cancellation by 8 January 2027, 50 percent through 25 January, and substitutions allowed after that. Final terms are confirmed on your invoice.

Is Intersolar admission included?

No. The forum is organized independently during IESNA week. Register for the exhibition separately at iesna.com.
